SeaShoreAntics - Oceanography, has been introduced to offer a taste of a bigger picture, as seashores are actually continuously effected by many events that occured initially in the deep oceans.
Both general public and scientific information may be written here. Whichever is relevant, we just ask it is reasonably understandable.

Sometimes massive slumping or lifting of under-sea ground in an earthquake event, can create this huge surge of seawater, known as a Tsunami.

Sea level changes are relative to the land you are standing on... in some areas the water may well be rising, in other areas however, the land might be sinking (eustatic change). Yikes, that makes it complicated... it is... and it gets worse!

There is more to sea temperature changes than can be found out by dipping toe in at the beach. Just like our global weather systems, there are areas of different sea temperature that actually effect another part of the world. Mess with this and....!?
