A Note
Welcome to the forum of www.seashoreantics.com All the forums can be found below this welcome note.
The forums should be comfortable, entertaining & may even be informative, allowing a good range of info & discussion over time, about the creatures and the environment in and around the UK sea shore littoral zone.
There is also a new catagory: SeaShoreAntics-Oceanography. Shores are continuously effected by the vast Oceanographic events and this is therefore where the big overall picture can be learned.
We hope you find postings to be of interest. If not... then make them so! Any differences of opinion are welcome on the boards, but discurtesy is not. Please remember all ages are able to read the content.
As a non registered person, you may read all the boards and post in ''(Open Forum)'', but to take full advantage such as posting topics/replies on all the boards, uploading your own id picture and contacting users through your private messaging facility etc, you will have to register, which is both simple and absolutely free.
If new to the forum, there are answers to most questions in the FAQ section (click button within list at top). If you have any problems with the registration process or your account login, please contact admin support.

A Note
SeaShoreAntics, is a catagory where forums are about the creatures and the environment in and around the UK sea shore littoral zone.
Both general public and scientific information may be written here. Whichever is relevant, we just ask it is reasonably understandable.

| SeaShoreAntics - Oceanography |
|
 |
A Note
SeaShoreAntics - Oceanography, has been introduced to offer a taste of a bigger picture, as seashores are actually continuously effected by many events that occured initially in the deep oceans.
Both general public and scientific information may be written here. Whichever is relevant, we just ask it is reasonably understandable.

SeaShoreAntics-Oceanography: sea level change
Sea level changes are relative to the land you are standing on... in some areas the water may well be rising, in other areas however, the land might be sinking (eustatic change). Yikes, that makes it complicated... it is... and it gets worse!

SeaShoreAntics-Oceanography: sea temperature change
There is more to sea temperature changes than can be found out by dipping toe in at the beach. Just like our global weather systems, there are areas of different sea temperature that actually effect another part of the world. Mess with this and....!?

Marine Science Education
Inquiry is central to science learning. When engaging in inquiry, students describe objects and events, ask questions, construct explanations, test those explanations against current scientific knowledge, and communicate their ideas to others. They identify their assumptions, use critical and logical thinking, and consider alternative explanations. In this way, students actively develop their understanding of science by combining scientific knowledge with reasoning and thinking skills.....
